      Science Museum of Western VA Gets Butterflies Due to Shutdown

      Roanoke, VA - A little bit of good news for the Science Museum of Western Virginia in the wake of the government shutdown.

      The museum in Roanoke received more than 140 butterflies Tuesday from the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in Richmond. The butterflies were released Tuesday morning.

      The gardens usually sends its butterflies to the Smithsonian in Washington DC for the winter. But those museums have been closed since the beginning of the month.
