Sandusky Elementary Teacher Surprised With Free School Supplies

Lynchburg, VA - A Lynchburg teacher has a lot more to work with in her classroom, after a big surprise Tuesday morning.

ABC 13 was there at Sandusky Elementary School as McKinley Tucker found out she was getting $1,000 worth of school supplies.

This is part of the annual "A Day Made Better" event through Office Max.

In addition to the supplies, Tucker was also surprised with a Kindle and camera.

"Oh, it was super-exciting, I don't have any of those things so when I saw those things it was like 'woo something new for me to play with'," Tucker said.

Tucker is Sandusky Elementary's Teacher of the Year.

Tucker is among 1,000 teachers nationally who were nominated by their principals for the Office Max award.
