Lynchburg, VA - The Salvation Army has opened a new family store in Lynchburg in the Fort Hill Shopping Center.
Friday was the grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Salvation Army leaders say the new store offers more space than the old location on Park Avenue. They hope by moving there, they will help to revitalize the shopping center.
Some items are on sale for only $3.
"Clothing is our main item. Furniture, very nice furniture, household goodsFor women the jewelry, shoes...I mean, we have a lot of different options here, even TVs," said Capt. Donald Dohmann.
The proceeds from everything sold in the store helps the Salvation Army provide shelter and food for the homeless.
