Rocky Mount Company Providing Homes for Sandy Victims

Rocky Mount, VA - Families displaced by Superstorm Sandy will soon move into brand new homes, provided by a local company.

Factory Expo Homes in Rocky Mount is shipping 15 t0 30 homes to the grounds of Faith Church in New Milford, CT. The first homes leave this week. Families from Staten Island, New York will move in two days before Christmas.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation partnered with Factory Expo Homes on the project.

"You can have the stable and the crèche outside your church, but this is really outside. This is really a manifestation," says Catherine Christman with Tunnel to Towers. "It's gonna be on the church's grounds. Long after the stable and crèche go away, this is going to be another reminded of the real Christmas spirit."

The homes will be fully furnished, including washers and dryers. The kitchens will be stocked with groceries for the families each week.

Families can live in the homes free of charge for a year. Their children can attend the private church school tuition free.

The homes sell for more than $30,000 each. Tunnel to Towers bought them from Factory Expo Homes at a discount.
