Roanoke, VA - The Roanoke Regional Airport had a rough night and morning as fog, and other issues, forced nearly a dozen cancellations and a number of delays.
The backup packed the small terminal into the morning as crews worked to make up for the trouble.
To make things worse, power went out in that part of Roanoke and the airport's backup system wasn't working properly.
That forced officials to shut down security screening for an hour as well.
By mid-morning planes were still dealing with fog issues.
"The flight is still up in the air. It is here we are just waiting for the fog clear a little bit. Get enough clearance to land," said Christiansburg's Phil Meek as he waited for his wife coming in from Chicago.
Fog was a problem for much of the mid Atlantic region.
