Roanoke Native Returns to Perform at Blues Festival

Roanoke, VA -- A Roanoke native who has made a big name for himself on the international Blues scene returned to his high school alma mater for a special performance.

Kevin Selfe, a Roanoke Catholic School graduate from the class of 1991, is in town for the Oak Barrel Blues Festival.

While in town he took some time out to visit with students at Roanoke Catholic to give some advice on following their dreams.

Selfe graduated from NC State with a degree in Meteorology but decided music was where his true passions were.

"Coming back here I wanted to be able to share with the students what I've been doing since I graduated Roanoke Catholic and be able to share with them some of my success because being here was a very big part of my growing up and part of my life," said Selfe.

Now based in Portland, Oregon, Selfe will perform at the festival Saturday in Elmwood Park.
