Roanoke Man Charged After Driving His Car into a House

Roanoke Co., VA- Roanoke County Police say a man has been charged with drunk driving after crashing his vehicle into a home early Saturday morning.

Around 4 a.m. Saturday officers responded to the 5700 block of Castle Rock Road for a report of a car running into a house. Police say by the time officers got there the driver of the car had already fled the scene.

Police tracked down the owner of the vehicle, Maurice W. Rowe, 3rd, to a home in the 4400 block of Cresthill Road. Rowe was arrested and taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries he sustained in the crash. He was later charged with driving under the influence. Additional charges may be placed pending the results of the investigation.
