Roanoke Man Admits Killing Stepson

Roanoke, VA - Search warrants at the Roanoke City courthouse show a man has admitted to a weekend homicide.

John Mark Altizer, 54, has been in jail with no bond since the Saturday afternoon shooting, charged with second degree murder.

A search warrant shows that officers responding to multiple 911 calls about shots fired found 31 year old Gabriel Gomez lying dead in front of a home in the 3800 block of Highwood northwest.

Police say Altizer is Gomez' stepfather.

The warrant says they found Altizer in the home where it says he confessed to the shooting and directed officers to the gun.
