Roanoke County Firefighter Arrested on Abduction, Firearm Charges
Roanoke Co, VA - Police say Roanoke Co. Firefighter Robert Stoots, 27, is facing six charges including abduction and reckless handling of a firearm.
According to police, Stoots was arrested for DUI in Salem early Sunday Morning. He was with his girlfriend at the time, police said.
Investigators say the girlfriend was being held against her will and that Stoots allegedly pointed a gun at her. They also say he took her phone so she couldn't call for help.
Stoots has been put on leave without pay.
He's been with Roanoke County for two years.
