Roanoke Co., VA- A person is recovering in the hospital after being caught in an explosion Friday night in Roanoke. According to the Roanoke County Police Department, fire and rescue crews were called out to the 2600 block of Rutrough Road a little after 5 o'clock for reports of an explosion.
Crews found a person who had been burned badly in the explosion, and transported them to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. They were then transferred to Wake Forest Medical Center. Police have not released the victim's name.
We're told the explosion was limited to one structure, but do not yet know a cause. The Roanoke County Police Department, along with the Fire Marshal's Office and State Police are investigating the incident.
