Roanoke City Teacher Named Va. Lottery " Super Teacher"

Roanoke, VA - A Roanoke City teacher was selected Tuesday to receive a Virginia Lottery Super Teacher award.

Garden City Elementary School teacher Matthew Miller was the eighth teacher to win the award this year.

Miller gets a $2,000 cash prize and an additional $2,000 classroom credit from The Supply Room Companies.

Later this fall, each of the eight winning teacher's schools will participate in a Facebook contest in which the public will vote for one of those schools to receive $5,000 in classroom supplies from The Supply Room Companies.

Earlier in May, Lynchburg's Dunbar Middle School Teacher Thomas Foster was named a Super Teacher.
