Roanoke, VA - You'll soon pay more for parking at the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport.Day parking jumps two dollars to 16 bucks and long term parking will climb to nine dollars -- which is up a dollar. An airport spokeswoman says parking fees are the number one way the airport generates money - accounting for 30 percent of the budget. Without a raise in the past four years... they say this year is the time."For the past several years we have been making a lot of cuts in our budget and this year we made the cuts but it just wasn't enough and we needed extra revenue," said airport spokeswoman, Amanda DeHaven.Current parking fees bring in more than 2.7 million dollars annually. The new fees go into effect July 1st.
