Roanoke Accepts Funds To Further Study Passenger Rail Service
Roanoke, VA - Roanoke City Council today voted to accept federal and state funds for a transportation study that will allow them to move forward on the return of passenger rail.
The unanimous vote sets in motion the search for a consulting firm to take on the task.
The study would look at a inter model facility to include the proposed passenger rail platform and renovations to the adjacent bus station.
The study will get underway within 60 days and can cost no more than $300,000.
