River District Towers Project in Need of City Council's Help
Danville, VA-- A group in Danville that wants to transform the former Dan River Research building into a business and medical facility is in dire need of the city's help.
River District Development announced last year their $14.5 million project to renovate the building into River District Towers.
It would house the Danville Orthopedic Clinic, offices for Danville Regional Medical Center, as well as commercial businesses
According to Danville City Manager Joe King, the group now said that the project is costing a lot more than they thought. They've asked the city to apply for a $1 million federal loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and New Market Tax Credits.
Council will discuss the idea next week.
