Lynchburg, VA - Volleyball is the name of the game all this week at V.E.S. Some of the region's rising stars took part in the High Expectations Camp that wrapped up Thursday. The Maximum Expectations Camp kicks in Friday.
College coaches from around the region are helping with the camps, designed to strengthen skills and help young players take their games to a higher level.
Director Tom Houser conducts nine volleyball camps around the state.
"All these girls love this sport, they love sports in general and they want to be the absolute best they can be. And this camp is full of those kind of kids that are ridiculously motivated, we don't have any motivational issues at this camp," Houser said.
"I've had a few girls that I've really seen their light bulbs turn on while we've been here this week and a couple of girls who are quite tall and coming into their body and figuring out oh wow I can block that ball or oh look I really can hit," High Expectations Instructor Devin Bayes said.
