Danville, VA - Some high school musicians had a chance to learn from experts Thursday.
Orchestra students from George Washington High school in Danville had a visit from the Richmond Symphony Orchestra. The quintet performed for the students in the school auditorium.
Students also had a question and answer session with the professionals.
G.W. Orchestra conductor Charles Sexton says it was a great opportunity for his students to learn some techniques that will help them in the future..
"I can see the joy in their face and the smiles on their face and their bodies moving to the music, and I know that tomorrow when we return to class they're going to be emulating a lot of the things they saw today and hopefully make them better musicians," he said.
Sexton says although opportunities like this don't come very often, he hopes they'll be able to visit again.
