Restaurants Gearing Up for NYE Crowds

Lynchburg, VA - With just a few hours until 2013 is here, a lot of local businesses and restaurants are busy finishing last minute tasks before the crowds come out.

"Tonight we have a lot of reservations. Hopefully we're going to be very slammed. Typically it is the busiest night of the year," said Chris Henderson, Marketing Manager, The{}Neighbors Place.

"Our books are full," said Ashley Rhodes, Manager,{}Robin Alexander Bistro.

"VIP is sold out," said Gary Shotwell, General Manager of Phase 2.

Restaurants are booking up fast to ring in the New Year, all of whom have their own special draw. Ashley Rhodes with Robin Alexander Bistro says this year they are hosting the "Party Before the Party." They are offering $5 martinis and a special five course menu for $35.

"An 8 oz char grilled fillet, coupled with our Mahi fillet, a crab cake, choice of side and also you get a dessert which is a chocolate cheesecake," said Rhodes.

All of this coupled with a Champagne toast at the end. The Neighbors Place plans to rock out with DJ Original.

"We will be busy. We will have everybody here in town," said Henderson.

Over at Phase 2 they say they have a little something for everyone.

"Ages 21 to 80. My mother will be here she's 84 years old," said Shotwell.

$15 will get you what they claim is the hottest ticket in town.

"Big, big New Year's Eve bash," said Shotwell.{}

Although management wants everyone to have a great time, all three places say safety is the number one priority.

All the managers are on staff this evening so we'll be eyes wide open," said Henderson.

"We always make sure the bartender does not over-serve," said Shotwell.

All three places say they have cab drivers on-call too just to make sure everyone makes it home safely.

Neighbors Place and Phase 2 will also have a Champagne toast at midnight and party favors.

Walk-ins are welcome at all three places.
