Residents Displaced After SUV Hits Assisted Living Facility
Roanoke, VA - An SUV crashed into the side of an assisted living facility in Roanoke on Saturday night.The is no word as to when the 27 residents of the facility will be able to return home.The wreck happened at the corner of 12th and Moorman Avenue late Saturday night. Police say 22-year old Steven Don Crowder is charged with DUI, felony elude and driving on a revoked license. A police spokesman says an officer was passed by Crowder doing a high rate of speed. The wreck happened soon after the officer turned around to catch up to him. Residents have been moved to local hotels while the building is made safe.
