Renovations Almost Complete at Downtown Lynchburg YMCA

Lynchburg, VA - The YMCA in downtown Lynchburg is almost done with renovations.

Crews have been working since November. The changes include new men's and women's locker rooms.

The main change is a new group-exercise room with a view.

One wall is completely glass and overlooks all of downtown.

Staff says they hope the changes will bring more people to the YMCA and be a great addition to the community.

"Not only are they exercising, but they actually have the opportunity to meet new friends and develop those relationships that keep them coming back to the Y on a regular basis," said YMCA Chief Operating Officer Jay Parker.

All renovations are expected to be finished this month.

The YMCA will host an open house for the public to see the changes and try out the new classes on February 1.
