Lynchburg, VA - Your holiday can get off to a healthy start this Thanksgiving.
Before you feast, head to downtown Lynchburg for the 24th annual Turkey Trot. There's a 5K run, fun walk and youth mile.
Proceeds from this event benefit the programs and services of Presbyterian Homes & Family Services and the Family Alliance. They help children, adults and families throughout Virginia. Programs and services focus on Early Childhood Education, Economic Empowerment, Mental Health Services, Residential Care and Safe and Healthy Living.
The Youth Mile starts at 8 a.m., and the 5K and Fun Walk are at 9 a.m.
Streets will close at 7:30 a.m., but parking will be available on Clay and Court Streets and the James River Conference Center.
