Blacksburg, VA - Virginia Tech has had a record number of applicants for its veterinary school.
More than 1200 prospective students submitted applications to the college last fall, the fourth largest pool in the country.
Getting into the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine is tough. Only about 270 candidates get an interview, and they are all vying for 120 seats. Of that, only 50 will be from Virginia, 30 from Maryland, six from West Virginia, and 34 from other states and countries.
