Rain Giving Peaches a Larger Than Normal Year

Lynchburg, VA - While the rain has been bad for farmers of some crops, peach growers are reaping the benefits.

Scott Barnes of Morris Orchard says his peaches are going to be the biggest they've been in a few years.

As more sunny days arrive, Barnes says he expects a nice crop.

Peaches need a good dose of sun to ripen and sweeten, but agricultural agents warn that the hot and humid weather has increased the chance of disease.
