Power Restored to Lynchburg After Thousands Lose Electricity

Lynchburg, VA - Power has been restored after more than 5,600 homes and businesses lost electricity Friday night.

Appalachian Power reports everyone got their power back by Saturday morning.

Right now parts of Roanoke and Roanoke County are still out. 150 customers in Roanoke County are without and 194 in Roanoke are without.

Thunderstorms moved through Friday evening knocking out power to many along Wards Road. Stoplights were also out as crews worked to restore the power. Many employees sat outside their work waiting for the power to come back on.

More rain is expected on Saturday.
