Power Outages, Road Closures Following Roanoke Co. Storms

Roanoke Co., VA - Strong thunderstorms in the Roanoke area led to power outages and road closures.

As of Wednesday morning, Hollins Road between Carlos Drive and Beaumont Road and Florist Road between Williamson Road and Verndale Drive are closed due to low hanging power lines and downed trees.

The Tuesday afternoon storms also caused power outages. At last check, Roanoke County had just under 1,100 hundred customers without power. Roanoke City has around 130 without electricity. And Botetourt County has more than 200 customers in the dark.
