Power Company Says One Bedford Co. Tree Can be Spared

Bedford Co., VA - Dominion Virginia Power said Tuesday one of three trees on a Bedford County property won't have to be cut down.

The company said the tree outside Dominion's 125-foot right of way in Forest can be trimmed in a way that would minimize the chances of it falling toward the power line.

The tree is about 200 years old. Two other trees that are around the same age are inside the right of way.

Dominion says it's reviewing some alternatives to cutting down those trees, suggested by the property owner.
