Forest, VA - Poplar Forest got a big boost to help level out all the landscape.
A well-known historical group donated $10,000 on Monday.The Virginia Daughters of the American Revolution District III donated the money.
It took them just over two years to raise $10,000. They say their initial goal was to raise just $1,000.
"The money is helping to make sure that the restoration is very accurate so we're doing everything we can possibly to do, so with this money, we don't have to stop where the money ends we can keep going," said Jack Gary, director of Archaeology at Poplar Forest.
Poplar Forest says in addition to getting the $10,000, they another $5,000 from an anonymous donor.
