Police Release Photo of Suspect Wanted in Home Invasion and Robbery

South Boston, VA - South Boston police are looking for a suspect connected with a home invasion and robbery.

Police responded to River Road for a call of a robbery on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim told police he was held at gunpoint by a white male while another white male took his stuff.

The victim says two males and a juvenile female drove off in a blue SUV.

Police say the 15-year-old juvenile female was arrested yesterday and taken to the W. W. Moore Detention Facility in Danville, Virginia.

Deputies from Halifax County Sheriff's Office, South Boston Police Department and Virginia State Police issued against Daniel Wayne Short and Dylan Taylor Goodson after police found the blue SUV at a house on Union Church Road near Old Mill Road.

Police say when they searched the house they found items from the robbery.

Police got information that Daniel Short was at a house in the 3 thousand block of Mountain Road in Halifax.

When they got there they say they were invited inside, but as they entered they heard a single gunshot.

Police say they found Short in a back room of the house suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police say Short died from his wounds and his body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Richmond.
