Police Arrest Two People in Christiansburg, Facing Multiple Charges
Christiansburg, VA - Two people are facing multiple drug and weapons charges after an incident in Christiansburg Tuesday night, according to police.
Officials from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and the Christiansburg Police Department responded to a call about a fight between people in two vehicles in the parking lot of a hotel off Laurel Street.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office charged Joseph G. Painter Jr., 65, of Blacksburg, was charged with one count of driving under the influence. Christiansburg police have also charged Painter with one count of distribution of a controlled substance and two counts of providing a firearm to a convicted felon stemming from information gathered at the scene.
Christiansburg Police have also arrested a woman in the other vehicle, Doris Ann Oliver, 21, of Roanoke. She was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony, one count of possession of ammunition for a firearm after being convicted of a felony, one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of controlled paraphernalia, one count of possession of marijuana, and one count of possession of a concealed weapon.
Both Painter and Oliver are currently being held without bond in the Montgomery County Jail.
