Danville, VA-- Theatre students at George Washington High School in Danville got an opportunity to learn from a professional this week.
The students were rehearsing for the performance of the play, The Jungle Fun Room. Production Playwright Brian Hampton flew all the way from New York to spend the week with the students.
He said he's been doing question and answer forums, working with the students on the scenes, and much more. He'll also stay for the performances.
"It's worth it, it's so much fun," Hampton said. "A lot of playwrights don't get to see their production live and every single production, but, I think besides one production, I've seen every single one of the productions of my work. I'm kind of addicted to it."
Opening night for The Jungle Fun Room is Thursday night at 7:30. They will also be performing Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 3 p.m.
