Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Night Out Planned for Tuesday

Chatham, VA - The Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office's Night Out event has been moved to Tuesday.The annual event is designed to raise awareness of crime prevention efforts in the community, and it's celebrated nationwide on the first Tuesday in August.The Sheriff's Office postponed the event last summer because of high temperatures, and decided to have it earlier this summer.All the festivities start at 5 p.m. and will be held at the county administration parking lot off Main Street in Chatham. They will have music, a car show, emergency vehicles, information tables, a kid's area and of course hot dogs.This year they've added a "Reduce Identity Theft" Community Shred to the activities as well.
