Pittsylvania Co. Moves Forward With Request To Allow Prayer in Meetings Again

Pittsylvania Co., VA - After a Supreme Court ruling on a public prayer case in Greece, New York, the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors is asking a judge to lift an injunction barring Christian prayer at their meetings.

The board's lawyer, Senator Bill Stanley, asked the judge to consider the high court's ruling - which gave local officials in Greece, New York the go-ahead to continue opening their meetings with prayer.But ACLU lawyer Rebecca Glenberg said the cases are not the same and should not effect Pittsylvania County.
