Pittsylvania Co. Board Ordered to Pay Legal Fees Over Prayer Dispute
Pittsylvania Co., VA - The Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors will have to pay back the legal fees for a woman who took them to court.
A federal judge has ordered the board to pay more than $53 thousand dollars to Barbara Hudson's attorneys.
The ACLU filed a lawsuit on her behalf against the board over prayers at their public meetings.
A federal judge issued an injunction in March, barring the board from opening meetings with prayers associated with any one religion.
Supervisors are planning to discuss the payment in a closed session with their attorney.
