Pittsburgh-VT: Week-Long Coverage

Blacksburg - The Hokies are back in the Top 25 this week for the first time in more than a year.

Tech is number 24 in A.P. and 25 in the USA Today coaches poll after beating North Carolina Saturday to improve to 5-and-1 on the season, the Hokies have won five in a row. Saturday they host a Pittsburgh team that knocked them out of the poll last year. The Panthers have had Tech's number, beating the Hokies their last four meetings.

Frank Beamer, HOKIES HEAD COACH, said "Last time we played them 537 yards against us, we turned the ball over four times, we only had 59 yards rushing... It's just a team we've had a hard time beating."

Willie Byrn, HOKIES R-JUNIOR FLANKER, said "You can certainly sense a little bit of, uh... a revenge factor. I don't know about the last four games but certainly last year."
Logan Thomas, VT CAREER PASSING YARDAGE LEADER, said "I feel it is still kind of a revenge-type game. Obviously we wanted to get that one back (against NC) from last year and we want to get this one back from last year, the way they put a beating on us."
