Lynchburg, VA - Phil Vassar put on his seventh annual concert benefiting Lynchburg's Miller Home for Girls at Phase 2 Thursday.
Vassar was taken to the Miller Home when he was younger and always, he said, after that first visit, felt the need to help. The Miller Home opened in 1875, and since has cared for more than 900 young women.
Vassar said he couldn't think of a more worthy organization.
"It's good to come home and it's good to see these girls growing up. It's our seventh year doing this, we're seeing them go off to college, get jobs, have kids, it's crazy, it's really neat" he said.
Every cent paid in admission to his show Thursday, will go directly to the Miller Home for Girls.
