Permit Filed to Demolish Train Depot as Group Works to Save It

Boones Mill, VA - Activists hoping to save the Boones Mill train depot are in panic mode after they say a company has filed a permit to demolish the building.

The group says originally, Norfolk Southern gave them until September 30 to prove they had the funds to move forward with the project.

As it turns out, Boones Mills' town manager wrote Norfolk Southern that the group would not have the needed funds, so the permit process got underway early.

Group leaders say they are well on there way to raising the money and just need a little more time.
