Pedestrian Struck, Fort Avenue Partially Closed

Lynchburg, VA - Part of Fort Avenue in Lynchburg remains closed after a car hit a pedestrian.

Police say the car was driving south around 4:30 when the driver lost control and hit a person who was weed eating.

The car then hit a telephone pole and ended up in the front yard of Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church.

The pedestrian and driver were both taken to Lynchburg General.

Fort Avenue between Sandusky and Autumn Drives will be closed until the telephone pole is fixed.

There's no word on any charges.
