      Pat Riley Named Heritage Girls Basketball Coach

      Lynchburg - Heritage has hired Pat Riley as its new girls head basketball coach.

      Riley most recently has taught and coached at Appomattox County High School. He worked with both football and girls basketball at Liberty High in Bedford in 2009 and '10, he takes over for Tracie Hayes who resigned after last season.

      Riley began his coaching career in 1986 at Holy Cross Regional School, then moved to Peninsula Catholic from 1989 through 2009.
      Former Heritage player Staci Davis has also been hired as an assistant. Davis played for the Pioneers from 2002 through 2006 and graduated from Virginia Tech. Coaches Dodd Jones, Mel Robinson and John Williams will continue to be part of the Pioneers staff.
