Danville, VA-- A group of 300 middle schoolers and high schoolers from all over the East Coast have been in Danville the past couple of weeks helping beautify the community.
They're part of a Christian summer camp called PASSPORT. This is their last week in Danville, and they've spent the last two days cleaning up Cardinal Village neighborhood.
A group of teens were planting flowers, cleaning out a storage shed and painting borders for abandoned houses. They also played with children in the neighborhood.
"We've been having a blast," said Sara Bumgarner, Mission Project Coordinator for PASSPORT Camps. "Danville is a great community to work with. The people in Danville are just amazing and we've been so happy and blessed to work with them."
Before heading back home this weekend, the group will be finishing up some housing projects on Friday.
