Roanoke, VA - The Blue Ridge Parkway Administration will officially take a look at lowering the speed limit, in the Roanoke area, by ten miles an hour.
Superintendent Phil Francis says the analysis was originally suggested last year by local rangers and then recently re-requested after an inquiry by a local cycling group.
Francis says rangers originally suggested the study due to rising conflicts between motorists and other users of the Parkway.
Last year the Parkway speed limit in Asheville was lowered from 45 to 35 miles an hour for similar reasons.
The area being studied is between mile post 110 and 120.
