Parkview Mission Back Open in Time for Holidays

Lynchburg, VA - The Parkview Community Mission in Lynchburg is back up and running.

They were closed for a few months. Staff there says the facility had fallen under disrepair.

But now, their doors are open again, and just in time too. The newly renovated facility is expecting to give out hundreds of turkeys to needy families this week.

The organization is giving Thanksgiving meals to needy families in the area. They want everyone to know, that they're back in business.

"Get on our list, make an appointment. And there are some guidelines, you'll need to bring your identification, but other than that, we are happy to be back, we know that there's a big need in Lynchburg, and we definitely want to see that everyone has food," said mission Director, Glenda Fort.

The facility had new shelving, windows, and floors installed. Staff says many of the upgrades were donated.
