Our 'Naked Face' Challenge by Shelley Basinger

Every single day, it is my least favorite thing to do.{} At about 11:30 a.m., I head to our WSET makeup room/closet and plop a small bag that is deceivingly heavy on the counter.{} It's that time again - time to put on my makeup and do my hair.{} Sigh.{}

It's not that I don't like to get all dolled up. But most days, I just don't have the patience for the process. Getting ready for the Midday newscast can seem like such a tedious ordeal - with 15 billion little steps I have to complete until I'm "ready" to go on-air.

I'm sure the men have stopped reading by now. But ladies - do you ever stop and think "Why in the world do I go through this every single day?{} How much time have I lost?{} How much money have I spent? Why can't I just be okay with the person I see first thing in the morning?"{}

The big question I have for you though: Do you have what it takes you put all of those "primping products" away for a little bit and show your "naked face" to the world?

I'm in the process of finding a few women to take this challenge. It's based off of a movement started by two women in Charlotte, North Carolina. {}They went two months and learned a lot about themselves by the time they were done. We're going to operate on a shorter time frame more like a few weeks.

So check back in May for our "Naked Face" challenge.{} I can't participate myself. {}(I'm pretty sure ABC-13's noon ratings would drop.) But I do promise to show up on the day this story airs, without a spec of makeup on.{}

Am I dreading it? A little. But hey, at least I don't have to spend 30 minutes in that makeup room.
