One Person Taken to Hospital After Accident in Bedford Co.

Bedford Co., VA - Virginia State Police troopers are investigating a car accident that sent one person to the hospital Friday.

The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. off Route 666.

Police say the driver of a 1987 Chevrolet Sprint struck a large boulder that was being drug down the road for 300 feet by a tractor trailer. They say the driver of the tractor-trailer was making a right turn to eastbound on Route 666 when the accident happened.

The driver of the Sprint, Daniel Surface, age 32, of Bedford, was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the driver of the tractor-trailer did not stop at the scene.
