One Person Dead, Another Recovering After Martinsville Shooting
Martinsville, VA- One man is dead and another is recovering after a shooting early Saturday morning in Martinsville.
The Henry County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to the Econo Lodge in the 1700 block of Virginia Avenue at a little before 1 a.m. In the parking lot they found two men with gunshot wounds. The men were both taken to Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
36-year-old Jimmy Bernard Tinsley was pronounced dead at the hospital. 21-year-old Brandon Denzel Eggleston was transferred to Roanoke Memorial. Officials say Eggleston's injuries are not life-threatening.
We're told a person has come forward to the Sheriff's Office, claiming responsibility for injuring and subsequently killing Tinsley. According to investigators, witnesses say there were multiple people involved in the shooting though.
