Officials Working to Make Streets Safer for Lynchburg Pedestrians
Lynchburg, VA - Lynchburg city officials are meeting to help make the area more pedestrian and bicycle friendly.
The Department of Health was given a grant to provide a Complete Streets Workshop Series.
The goal of this series will be to initiate an effort to make sidewalks and bike lanes safer and more efficient. By doing that, officials hope that folks in the Hill City will choose to walk or bike as a mode of alternate transportation.
"If you live within a certain radius of your work or your school or the grocery store, you might opt to take that walk or take that bike if you can in a safe way," said Leslie Hoglund, senior health educator.
The workshop series will start January 24 and continue through March.
