Lynchburg, VA - Historic Sandusky in Lynchburg is getting new life thanks to a new partnership with Lynchburg College.

The President of the foundation and LC's president signed the official proclamation Monday afternoon.

They say the process is just starting, but eventually LC will own the historic property.

Part of the reason for this partnership is to promote education and preservation. Officials say it will also give students more educational opportunities.

"Here's a piece of property that took part in the Civil War, War Between the States, and we also have a very strong museum studies program and here we have another collection of artifacts that our students can study and have the practice in using," said Kenneth Garren, president of LC.

Garren hopes that the college can start holding social functions at the foundation in the near future.
