Franklin Co., VA - The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says they found two infants inside a home officials say contained a meth lab.

Officials arrested two adults inside the home on Crowell Gap Road in the Boones Mill section of Franklin County Monday night.

James Alexander Smith, 28, and Martha Jo Landgrebe, 53, both from Boones Mill, were arrested as a result of an investigation that began with the Roanoke County Police Department days earlier.

Both are charged with knowingly allowing a child to be present during the manufacture of methamphetamine and for manufacturing meth.

The infants were taken into custody and will receive a medical evaluation.

The Franklin County Investigators and Roanoke County Detectives were assisted by the Virginia State Police Tactical Team and Virginia State Police Special Agents trained in clandestine lab investigations.
