Salem - Eastern Mennonite is the coaches' choice as preseason favorite to win this year's ODAC women's basketball title.
The Royals edged out Guilford for the top spot. Lynchburg is picked a strong third, the Hornets return all five starters from last year's 18-and-10 team.
The Roanoke Maroons come in at 7 with Randolph at 10, Washington & Lee 11 and Hollins rounding out the 12-team league.
Jim Phillips, 5TH-YEAR HOLLINS COACH, said "Our guard play is going to be pretty good I think. We're gonna play up-tempo a little bit I think, but we're gonna shoot the ball pretty well, I hope."Christine Clancy, 2ND-YEAR W&L COACH, said "You know I think we're just going to be more balanced scoring-wise. We're going to look to run the ball a little bit more than we have in the past and take advantage of our speed versus our lack of height."
Abby Pyzik, 4TH-YEAR LYNCHBURG COACH, said "We've tasted success and want to be there and so I definitely think this team has the potential to do it and if I could say they're better, definitely. But they have to put the work and the time in and I know they will."
