NRA to Feature Bedford Co. Sheriff Vest Program

Bedford Co., VA - A local effort to make sure every law enforcement officer has a bullet proof vest gets the attention of the National Rifle Association.

A crew from the NRA Life of Duty channel was at the Bedford County Sheriff's Office Thursday getting video of a ballistic vest presentation.

Sheriff Mike Brown met with NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre last week.

When Brown told LaPierre about the 'Protect the Protectors' program, LaPierre wanted to feature it on the online video channel.

"It deals with law enforcement agencies throughout the country and sort of unusual programs that some of them are doing," said Sheriff Mike Brown. "So he said we definitely want to put this on Life of Duty."

The video will air online on the NRA Life of Duty channel.
