North Carolina Man Arrested for Soliciting Child in Bedford Co.
Bedford Co., VA - The NC Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force has arrested a man for soliciting a child online in Bedford Co.
Grady Wayne Mabe Jr., who lives in Walkertown, NC, was arrested as a result of an investigation from both the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the NCICAC.
Investigators from the Bedford County Sheriff's Office were investigating a man wanted for soliciting children for sexual purposes online.
They tracked Mabe Jr. to North Carolina, where the NCICAC got a search warrant for his home. He was then arrested and taken to the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center and was confined with no bond.
He is awaiting extradition to Virginia, and his next scheduled court appearance is November 30 in North Carolina.
