North Carolina Company Relocates To Danville Bringing Jobs

Danville, VA -- A North Carolina company is relocating to Danville and bringing dozens of jobs. Sky Valley Foods makes natural and organic sauces and salad dressings. They are relocating to the Airside Industrial Park from Yancyville, North Carolina.

Sky Valley Foods will be bringing all 50 of its employees and adding 10 more jobs right away. But they say they hope to expand their operations to have 100 employees by the end of next year.

Danville beat out 200 locations for Sky Valley Food's new facility.

"We have something special here that to beat out 200 cities and to bring it here again is another home run," says Danny Marshall, 14th District Virginia Delegate.

Co-Owner and CEO Dennis Daniels says they had specific needs for their new building. One benefit to Danville is the location, being just a few miles from their current facility in Yancyville, North Carolina. Daniels says the 132,000 square-foot former Amcor building fit them perfectly.

"This facility was ready with most of the things we would have to do. So it saved us significant money," says Daniels.

Sky Valley Foods will lease the building from the Industrial Development Authority. The city of Danville will provide 100 thousand dollars toward upgrades.

"If it wasn't for the foresight for the city of Danville to fund this facility, we would probably be in another city," says Daniels.

"I think this is a smart investment, especially for the return. Again, this is a proven company so it's one that we know is going to succeed," says Lee Vogler, Councilman.

Sky Valley distributes to all 50 states and 6 countries. And soon, they hope to add two new lines for condiments and beverages.

"We are seeing significant growth and the reason that we are moving to the facility is because of that growth," says Daniels.

They hope to open their doors in Danville by this Fall. They will be hiring for various skill level positions.
